“The paradox is that hedonism, the pursuit of pleasure for it's own sake, leads to anhedonia. Which is the inability to enjoy pleasure of any kind.”
-Dr. Anna Lembke
At SEVA Recovery™ we are a team of professionals offering peer support services to medical professionals and first responders. Our approach to is grounded in medical science, incorporating elements from psychology, biology, and behavioural economics to understand cognition, motivation, and behaviour.
You will work one-on-one with a program facilitator who has professional and lived experience overcoming the challenges you're facing, enabling a connection that is often unattainable in more formal treatment settings. Building rapport and trust is crucial in addressing issues such as professional burnout, feelings of imposter syndrome, low self-esteem, and overwhelm. By eliminating the natural self-consciousness and reputation management that often occurs when opening up to therapists without lived experience, we can get to the root cause of our problematic behaviour.
Our facilitators are deeply engaged in your recovery process, and the relationships built through this shared experience are meaningful. In our sessions we often explore deeply personal topics, such as trauma, fear, guilt, and the shame that stems from our unwanted thoughts and behaviours. We understand the weight of these struggles because we’ve lived through them ourselves. Most importantly, we are professionals who have not only faced these challenges but have also come out the other side, and we are dedicated to helping you do the same. What sets our program apart is having someone to talk to who truly understands what you’re going through.
